The Battle of Britain is one so the most celebrated stories of WW2. This trio of posters shows three of the key elements of that story. The Supermarine Spitfire, the Hawker Hurricane and a map of RAF Fighter Command during WW2.

Surrounding the centre poster are the two RAF star fighters in the Battle of Britain. The Supermarine Spitfire and the Hawker Hurricane.

The centre poster shows a map of RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. The structure evolved throughout the battle and this representation shows the completed command at the end of 1940. The solid lines indicate the group boundaries whilst dashed lines show how the sectors were laid out within the groups. Icons then show the location of each group and sector HQ.

The key commanders are then represented with their ranks and positions starting with the Commanding Officer of RAF Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain, Air Chief Marshal Hugh Dowding. Dowding is followed by the Air Vice Marshals who commanded Fighter Command at group level. These include 11 groups Keith Park and 12 groups Trafford Leigh Mallory.

The final feature is Winston Churchills infamous quote, “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.”

Each poster is set on a backdrop of the RAF Roundel.

About The Print

It’s important to me that customers receive the highest quality prints that I can produce, therefore I only use genuine Epson inks. This ensures colour accuracy and prevents the image from fading with the passage of time.

This image is printed on premium 230gsm archival matt paper. This high quality paper works well with Epson inks to produce a sharp and vibrant image. The papers reflection free surface means prints can be placed directly on a wall without reflecting sunlight, however we prefer to frame our prints for that perfect finish!

Available in A4 size (21cm x 29.7cm) and A3 size (29.7cm x 42cm)

Delivery

Our products are usually dispatched within 24 hours of your order being placed.

A4 orders and below will be shipped in flat, secure board backed envelopes. UK orders will be sent by Royal Mail First Class Post. International orders will be sent via Royal Mail International Standard Mail. (Tracked upgrade is available at checkout.)

Orders of A3 and larger sizes will be rolled into exceptionally strong (see for yourself!) postal tubes. This protects the larger image during its travels, but it’s easy to flatten the image again, simply roll it back on itself a few times or leave it under a flat object for a while and it will be good as new! UK Orders will be sent fully tracked by Evri Couriers while international orders will be sent via Royal Mail International Standard Mail. (Tracked upgrade is available at checkout.)
